Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) is identified as a personality disorder characterized by inflexibility, rigid conformity to rules and procedures, perfectionism, moral code, and/or excessive orderliness. [1] It is not to be confused with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which refers more to a behavioral set than a personality style, as does OCDP.
OCDP falls within the C cluster of personality disorders, along with Avoidant personality disorder and Dependent personality disorder. [1]
Diagnostic criteria
Note: The American Psychiatric Association, which publishes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, forbids the unauthorized reproduction of their diagnostic criteria. A narrative of the DSM-IV-TR criteria follows.
