I took the photo off of the loc.gov website. Sorry if I mislead anyone that I actually took the photo--I did resize and adjust the color for clarity on the website.
As far as I understand the loc.gov's copyrights--if they've published it online--it's public domain.
I've adjusted the text description and hope this clarifies things.
