I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and graduated from Mount Holyoke  College with a degree in political science.  I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand.  I am an attorney with my first law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an advance degree in US tax law from New York  University.  I practice in the area of public finance.
