In medicine and pharmacology, teicoplanin is a "glycopeptide antibiotic complex from Actinoplanes teichomyceticus active against Gram-positive bacteria. It consists of five major components each with a different fatty acid moiety."[1][2]

Other glycopeptide antibiotics include vancomycin and dalbavancin.

Teicoplanin can be used to treat pseudomembranous enterocolitis due to Clostridium difficile.[3]
