An island in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, Ben Tre Province is traversed by four rivers: the Ba Lai, Co Chien, Ham Luong and Tien Giang Rivers. It is accessible only by water, principally Rach Mieu Ferry between My Tho and Ben Tre City.
The South China Sea forms its southeast border. Across water to the north is Tien Giang Province, with Vinh Long and Tra Vinh Province on its southwest border.
Ben Tre City is its capital.
