The Piranha is the basename of an extended family of wheeled armored vehicles, designed by Swiss firm Mowag.[1][2] Over a dozen countries have operated variants of the Piranha. Typically these vehicles have been built in locally, under liscense.
The Piranha family includes 6, 8, and 10 wheel designs. Some variants serve as unarmed ambulances, or command vehicles. The armaments the vehicles carry include machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, autocannons, 105 mm cannons, mortars, and anti-tank missiles.
