I like the idea of "being bold" and the "gentle correction". I look forward to seeing how Citizendium will cope where Wikipedia has failed. The idea of not trying to reach "ridiculous concensus" appeals to me. I had thought that wikipedia's concept of concensus probably referred to scientific or orthodox concensus or something of that nature. But basically I think I now realise it just means articles will aspire to please the largest lobby group.

By hobby I'm a student of mathematics. Thus I also have an interest in (relatively uncontroversial) mathematics articles. Perhaps I'll contribute to those from time to time. Though I have a demanding job, so I was never a great wikipedia contributor and probably won't be a huge contributor to Citizendium. Though if all things go well, maybe I will contribute a little more, since I like some of the policies a bit better. They seem a little more sensible to me.

I'm also into computer programming, martial arts and reading. My "hobby" is very demanding so don't expect regular updates here.

I saw a link to Citizendium on slashdot. I read some of the aims of the Citizendium project, and not having a terribly high view of the quality of some of the articles in Wikipedia, I thought I'd register and give it a go.
