I love USC and will be hitting up the library shortly.  It's better to write on my talk page with your replies and copy the conversation to your talk page if you feel that it is important. Or you can go to my talk page and email me - first, go to my user page by clicking on my name (linked in my signature). then, on the left side in the "tool box" section it says "email this user."  It won't show you my email address but it allows you to contact me directly if you would like.  When you edit someone else's talk page they usually get an email notification and will sign on to check it out.  The reason that I am pushing for categories to get placed in articles (look at bottom of articles and you'll see hyperlinks for specific categories is for a function called "related changes."  It's hard to explain now, but start by looking at the "recent changes" link in the "project page" box on the left side.  This lists all of the recent changes and activity on CZ (citizendium).  Related changes will allow us to monitor what changes have happened in "biology workgroup" articles and "health sciences" workgroup articles if we get all of our articles tagged with those 2 categories.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.  I think the best way to learn is just go start fiddling and participating.  You'll learn as you go at your own pace.  Have fun! Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

Hello

Nice to have you on board. Please consider adding your name as an "author" in the area of your expertise. See Robert's links above. Also, make sure we get the articles "tagged" correctly with workgroup and cz live categories. -Tom Kelly (Talk) 12:59, 15 February 2007 (CST)

nice to be here

Tom - nice to be writing for CZ. I'm still learning how to drive around and what the tags mean and how to get date/time stamps and categories placed correctly. How are things at USC? -Barney

Have fun! I'm off to the library. Looks like you are in to hematology, do you know Dr. Levine? -Tom Kelly (Talk) 13:36, 15 February 2007 (CST)
