I can see why you don't want to bother trying to maintain the publications list, but I'd have thought the "EDUCATION AND TRAINING" section was not likely to become outdated, and it helps give those who don't know you a better sense of your expertise. Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Chemistry and Physics articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Natural Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Chemistry or Physics pages that have been recently edited here and here - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project. | |||

Some questions
Dear Fred, thanks for your welcoming message. I am looking forward to making a useful contribution. Some questions:
- Will there be photos at CZ articles? I notice that although text has been copied across from Wikipedia, photos have not. If there will be no photos, that's fine. But if there are going to be photos, could we please, please, have a more coherent and comprehensible copyright policy (and preferably a more liberal one), than the incoherent mess at Wikipedia? Also, I hope I will not have to re-upload the hundreds of original photos I have contributed to Wikpedia.
- I have just replaced the existing Joseph Goebbels article with the new one I recently wrote for Wikipedia - the forking date for the Wikipedia version we are using seems to predate this. I have tagged the article as "live." Is this the correct procedure?
- I see we have the same annoying text bug that Wikipedia has. When text is viewed at "medium" size on IE (I don't know about other browsers), the superscript footnotes disrupt the line spacing in a very ugly way. I was never able to find the right person at Wikpedia to get this fixed. How are such matters to be dealt with here?

Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved
Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.
If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for signing up and reading this update; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 07:51, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
