* YMBAA: Young Men's Buddhist Association of America. Founded by Master Lok To in 1974 for practice and study of the Dharma. The official website of the organization states that the title implies no gender association.
* YMCA: Young Men's Christian Association. More than 2,600 YMCAs in the U.S. are part of an international movement that began in London in 1844.
* YMHA: Young Men's Hebrew Association. Based on the model of the YMCA, the first YMHA was established in Baltimore in 1854 to provide aid for Jewish immigrants.
* YWCA: Young Women's Christian Association. Local unit of an international movement that began in London in 1855 and was first established in the U.S. in 1858.
