Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!
You can find some more information about our collaboration groups if you follow this link CZ:Workgroups. You can always ask me on my talk page or others about how to proceed or any other question you might have.
Have fun and Happy editing!

Ireland
Beir Bua agus Beannacht, Anton! Pop in for a wee dram if you ever find yourself near Sauchiehall Street! W. Frank 19:57, 24 April 2007 (CDT)
- PS: I believe that `The term Republic of Ireland is "the description of the State"' is no longer accurate due to recent constitutional amendments... W. Frank 20:09, 24 April 2007 (CDT)
May 22 still
Apologies. I have become over-sensitive to criticism (most especially guised as "trivial questions") and by the time I went back to erase my inappropriate reply to your perfectly reasonable and nice question, you had already seen it, and answered. I'm a bit red-faced, I assure you. Let me give it another try: Generally, edit summaries are only filled out as an indication for why a change has been made. Although that's imnportant when working on the wiki, in the approvals notice board today I kept making dumb mistakes in formatting and spacing and the like, and so never put anything in the summary. I'm a little off my game today (can't you tell?:-) - I never noticed that font business. Probably it's there because that's the title of the section- May 22, and the other stuff just makes it look red to make the section stand out. Like here- if I don't put anything in edit summary when I save the page it will probably come out "May 22 still". I think Citzendium is great, too- and unfortunately, I've become a great big crank. Need a break, and sorry to take it out on you. Nancy Sculerati 12:21, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
Dublin
No problem :) While doing some work for CZ:Statistics I see some pages that need a minor cleanup. BTW, much more complicated cases exist ;-) --Aleksander Stos 06:45, 11 June 2007 (CDT)
Alcohol
Thanks, I didn't know about the suggestion place at that time :-). I can't legally drink either. Yi Zhe Wu 15:49, 15 June 2007 (CDT)
Hi
Thanks! Enjoyed the Ireland article by the way. Former Trinnerhead I see? Nice stuff. Denis Cavanagh 09:05, 24 July 2007 (CDT)
Your drinks are served
Hi Anton, I thought your suggestion seemed a fair challenge. Beer is served. Cheers! --Ian Johnson 12:22, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
- You're most welcome. And of course, we all know A is for ABBA. Top of the evening to you! --Ian Johnson 14:21, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
August 29
Have a look at your user page, the date of becoming constable ;-) Aleksander Stos 11:40, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
- Oops! No time-travelling for me... Anton Sweeney 11:59, 2 August 2007 (CDT)
Oh, very good. To be honest I put no work towards Kingdom of Oriel and liked the wikipedia version, so I left it as it was. If I come across anything relevant such as that I will add it to the 'see also' section. :) Denis Cavanagh 09:33, 8 August 2007 (CDT)
Oh, thanks! I'll move towards it soon, sometime before the end of the week anyway. I'm looky enough to have had a grandfather obsessed with this kind of stuff and so have a lot of obscure sources locking in our attic somewhere. It'll be kinda fun to add on to it! Denis Cavanagh 09:56, 8 August 2007 (CDT)
Four Courts Image
It seems kind of dark on my LCD so I'm going to see what I can do to enhance it, if you don't mind. --Robert W King 11:39, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
Let me know what you think. I think I got the licensing correct.--Robert W King 12:01, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
- The new version looks much better - replaced the image on Dublin with the new one. Thanks again. Anton Sweeney 05:47, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Easter Rising
He Anton, was wondering if you could anything to the Easter Rising article? I was going to write something about De Valera but I'm afraid it will be horribly biased against him if I do. Turns out that I'm a committed Collins-ite! Denis Cavanagh 05:21, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
- I can certainly have a look at it over the weekend, though I'd be in the same camp as yourself :P Ideally, I think, we'd have a short paragraph on all the main leaders (with full articles to follow). Just one thing - you might want to cast your eye over CZ:Article Mechanics, which is the Citizendium style guide. Good work, though, its a nicely balanced article. Anton Sweeney 05:52, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. I think seven of them have their own little article - I'm hoping to do a Pearse main article at some stage. Denis Cavanagh 05:55, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
Workgroups
I adfd a few comments here,User talk:Anton Sweeney/Sandbox/Workgroups. Not much but a start. Chris Day (talk) 09:51, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
fada
How do you do those fada's on Eamon? Denis Cavanagh 11:25, 15 August 2007 (CDT)
- On Windows XP, hold the 'Alt Gr' key (the one to the immediate right of the spacebar) down while typing the vowel you want the fada to appear over. Capitals with a fada are a pain: Shift + AltGr + vowel :P Anton Sweeney 11:36, 15 August 2007 (CDT)
Thanks. This will make me feel like an Pátriot (definately not an irish word :P)
Valera picture
Regarding to the Eamon de Valera picture, I just discovered that the label on the library picture was "E. de Valera" instead of "Eamon de Valera", if you have any knowledge on Ireland, can you verify whether it is the photo of the Irish president or another E. de Velera? Thanks! Yi Zhe Wu 14:21, 16 August 2007 (CDT)
- Thanks for the clarification, so are we ready to replace the picture with King's modified one yet? Best. Yi Zhe Wu 22:50, 16 August 2007 (CDT)
Ferrari Checklist
Done. --Charles Sandberg 12:57, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
Butler
Butler is ready for approval. As I have been involved as an author, would you do the honors? See CZ:Approval_Process#Sysops_make_it_official_with_the_.7B.7BApproved.7D.7D_template for the how-to. —Stephen Ewen (Talk) 23:52, 17 August 2007 (CDT)
Edward I
- Edward I is ready, too. Also see Talk:Edward_I#ToApprove :-) —Stephen Ewen (Talk) 22:23, 18 August 2007 (CDT)
- No worries :-) Was it you or me who caused two 'Approved' templates to appear at one stage? The first was correct, the second was empty (no editor listed). Anton Sweeney 04:51, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
