Tasks: start a new article • add basic, wanted or requested articles • add definitionsadd metadata • edit new pages

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

You can find some more information about our collaboration groups if you follow this link CZ:Workgroups. You can always ask me on my talk page or others about how to proceed or any other question you might have.

Have fun and Happy editing!

AmeriCorps

Greetings from a fellow alum! It might be fun to collaborate on AmeriCorps. Stephen Ewen 00:13, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

Indeed, but my knowledge of the program is fairly limited to the state program in which I was involved. I learned more about the state parks and invasive exotics than I did about the history or administration of AmeriCorps. But let's have a go. Brian 00:39, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

Email Contact

Hi Brain. I tried to contact you via email but it keeps getting returned as undeliverable. Would you please send me one to ewenste AT bellsouth.net ? Thanks! —–Stephen Ewen 12:07, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Concurrent use registration

Brian, I m so sorry that I missed your message. I have been spotlighting developed articles that need editors for approvals on the Approvals board on Thursday, and will be sure to include this article. Now- why are you not an editor in Law? Have you applied? e-mail personnel@citizendium.org and include your CV along with an e-mail address that you can be contacted at thyat verifies your identity ( so a law firm or something) and I have a verystrong feeling that you will be made a law workgroup editor. For approval nomination, as you authored this article- you will need a law workgroup editor who did not author to nominate. anyway, thanks for your good work. Nancy Sculerati 23:17, 8 May 2007 (CDT)

Categories

Brian, you've surely done this completely innocently, but make sure you don't add any more categories as did at Category:Law. For background, read this. Still an open issue, but until it is settled we want to hold off on making them for articles. Stephen Ewen 12:42, 26 May 2007 (CDT)

Template

I've deleted the "hangon" template, copied here.

The procedure for contesting the speedydelete template is simple: remove the template and put a notice on the talk page. Just trying to avoid "template creep." --Larry Sanger 18:17, 3 June 2007 (CDT)

The speedy deletion of this page is contested. The person placing this notice intends to dispute the speedy deletion of this article on its talk page, and requests that this page not be deleted in the meantime.

Note that this request is not binding, and the page may still be deleted if the page unquestionably meets the speedy deletion criteria, or if the promised explanation is not provided very soon. This template should not be removed from a page still marked with a speedy deletion template.

  • Okay - just trying to avoid trouble. On Wikipedia it's considered bad form to remove a speedy deletion template. Brian Dean Abramson 23:36, 4 June 2007 (CDT)

Usage

Place this template on the page that is tagged for speedy deletion, and immediately give a reason on the associated talk page.

In almost every circumstance, this template should not be placed on a talk page.

Great start at Deism

Thanks much. Will Nesbitt 21:30, 8 June 2007 (CDT)

  • Well, I just copied over the Wikipedia article (albeit which I did do some work on) and fixed some obvious problems with it. Cheers! Brian Dean Abramson 22:26, 8 June 2007 (CDT)

Hello!

It's nice to see a lawyer here. Currently we lack law workgroup editors so would you apply for one? I also emailed Prof. Randy Barnett to invite him coming here but he did not respond. So as practicing intellectual properties law, how do you view on open-content works like CZ and Wikipedia? and how do you view the "free culture" movement in general? Just curious. Best. I am quite upbeat about the wiki movement, and complementary concepts such as Project Gutenberg and the Creative Commons. The more free information there is out there, the more ideas can be culled from it! Brian Dean Abramson 23:19, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
