Joseph Perez (a.k.a. Joe Perez) is a Seattle-based writer and author of two books on spirituality and culture. His best known book is Soulfully Gay, a memoir published by Integral Books/Shambhala in 2007. The book was probably the first "how-I-found-my-faith" sort of memoir of an adherent of the "Integral Spirituality" school of thought that was published and distributed by mainstream publishing houses.

He earned his A.B. degree with Honors from Harvard University in The Comparative Study of Religion and Philosophy, and attended the Divinity School at The University of Chicago. His M.A. in Divinity is pending (expected 2011), following completion of an outstanding language requirement. He is currently enrolled in a graduate certificate program in Integral Leadership sponsored by Pacific Integral.
