First, a disclaimer: my fields are primarily telecommunications, medical, software and network engineering, so you are immediately giving me far more thermodynamics than I remember. Nevertheless, my initial thought is that I would find it helpful to have something of a higher-level article under which this fits. For want of a better term, I’ll call it “Energy Management”, but please feel free to change it. | |||

Made some revisions to improve appearance
Gordan, I just made some revisions of the first two or so paragraphs of the section on the Carnot cycle to show you how the article's appearance can be much improved and the length of the article can be shortened:

First, a disclaimer: my fields are primarily telecommunications, medical, software and network engineering, so you are immediately giving me far more thermodynamics than I remember. Nevertheless, my initial thought is that I would find it helpful to have something of a higher-level article under which this fits. For want of a better term, I’ll call it “Energy Management”, but please feel free to change it.
Under that would be such sub-articles/pages as:
- Energy generation
- Energy conversion
- Energy storage
- Energy distribution
Yours would go under conversion, as a sub-article for Carnot cycles. Other articles might include conversion of mechanical to electrical (e.g., flywheel and generator), electrical to mechanical, solar to electrical, etc.
Does this make any sense? Having a more general article one level up would let you define common terms and show how different kinds of energy conversion are part of a larger whole. I found it somewhat confusing to have what seemed a general title take me directly into Carnot cycles.
